			Monthly shopping cart study
From the Consumers Union of Catalonia – UCC, in collaboration with the College of Dietitians – Nutritionists of Catalonia (CODINUCAT), we have updated the study of the shopping basket to have a list of basic and healthy products for consumers. This list has been provided by CODINUCAT.

Basic and healthy products
– Vetegables: Green beans, Swiss chard, Spinach, Broccoli, Zucchini, Eggplant
– Vegetables: Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Carrot, Pepper, Cucumber
– Meat, fish, eggs/animal protein: Chicken, Pork loin, Beef, Egg, Hake, Cod, Salmon, Sardines, Seito
– Legumes/Vegetable protein: Lentils, Chickpeas, Peas
– Dairy: Semi-skimmed milk, Natural yogurt
– Fruits: Apple, Pear, Orange, Tangerine, Banana
– Farinaci: Wholemeal bread, Wholemeal rice, Wholemeal pasta, Potatoes
– Fats: Olive oil

Baby products
– Feeding: Potty, Powder Potty

Hygiene products
– Feminine: Tampon, Pads

With the collaboration of the Celiac Association of Catalonia, we have updated the shopping cart study to have a list of basic and healthy gluten-free products for consumers.
Differentiate between celiac disease and non-celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity:
– The Celiac disease is a disease, a permanent autoimmune multisystem disorder in genetically predisposed individuals, induced by the ingestion of gluten that causes atrophy of the villi of the small intestine that affects the ability to absorb nutrients from food, among other symptoms outside the digestive system.
– On the other hand, the Non-celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity, also popularly known as gluten intolerance – although erroneously – was first described in the late 1970s but has begun to be recognized and has been intensively studied since 2011. It is not yet known whether gluten is the cause of this disease and research is underway to determine whether other components of wheat, or cereals in general, could be involved (FODMAPS or ATIs). 
The basic gluten-free products analyzed are the following:

– Porridge
– Pasta

– Biscuits
– Pizza
– Cannelloni
– Lasagna
– Beer
