Common problems with insurance

On many occasions, insurance brings us more problems than solutions, and it is often difficult to know how to deal with these situations in the face of a breach by these companies. When we take out insurance, we are trusting that the company will fulfill its obligations in the event of an incident, but this is not always the case. The Consumers Union of Catalonia (UCC) wants to accompany you in defending your rights and help you understand the steps you can take to ensure that your claims are heard and resolved.

Share price updates

It will not always be a breach, but every time our insurance company wants to raise the price of the fee, it must notify us in writing two months in advance.

Very long procedures

Sometimes when we have a problem and want to file a complaint they tell us that they are opening an incident and we never hear from them again. Our recommendation is that it be done in writing to know what was claimed and when. From here you should know that they will have to respond to you within a month of the complaint being filed.

Unfair denials

Not all denials of compensation made by the company will be unfair, but we must bear in mind that they may be. To be able to verify this we will have to review our policy and the reason they have given us to know if this condition was foreseen in the policy.

Helplessness as a consumer

There are times when we firmly believe that we are right, but when the company denies it we feel helpless. You should know that all insurance companies have a body generally known as “the insured’s advocate”. This body will be responsible for processing our claims in order to provide the appropriate response to each case.
